I have fixed my C1 Pro 3.7.6 deactivation issue
Hello Keith;
This is a copy of the message I sent to Phase One Support tonight. Hopefully this may help other users that are experiencing deactivation issues.
------
I am happy to write that I think I have resolved the issue since October 2006 of C1 Pro 3.7.6 reverting back to expired trial.
As my case states last October I replaced my C hard drive with a larger drive and transferred all of the files plus Windows to the new drive. The first time I opened C1 with the new drive it needed to be activated. I used the license key from the original purchase version 1.1. After doing this quit often when I opened C1 it would revert back to expired trial. Phase One support has been stumped with not very many ideas. Per your suggestion, I even reinstalled the OS and all of the software - no fun. When I reinstalled the OS I once again used the license code from my original purchase C1 v 1.1 and the reverting back to expired trial continued.
Two weeks ago I was talking to a friend of mine who I consider to be a C1 expert. I mentioned to him that in June of 2004 I purchased a 5 upgrade package for $295 - he said that I should have received a new license code with the purchase. I looked back through my records and sure enough I found a new license code with instructions to use it for version 3.5. Two weeks ago I entered the new license code for version 3.5 and C1 Pro has opened flawlessly for two weeks without reverting back to the expired trial.
I am extremely happy that I finally figured out what the problem was.
As a suggestion when a user has an issue such as mine that C1 repeatedly reverts to the expired trial you might question them to ensure that they are using the correct license code to activate the software. When I changed my hard drive and I was required to enter the license code for activation I totally forgot that I received a new code in June of 2004 with the 5 upgrade purchase and I continually tried using the original code from the original version I purchased.
I am attaching the c1dslr.lic file which is the "old" license file generated by the version 1.1 license code. It would be interesting to me if Phase One Support would open that lic file to see if there was any data that could have helped you solve my issue if you would have thought to request the file. I would be interested in your findings.
Thanks very much for all of the help and time you spent on my issue since last October 2006.
I will consider this support case closed from my perspective. Have a great week!
