"Missing Capture One Session" Error messages
Using both XP and Win7, my CO6 software does not boot. It has booted on each system in the recent past. Now, all I get is a black box with a gray border and a message that states "Recent Session". It has 4 dark gray named buttons below the gray box perimeter. All four buttons go no where. I deleted the XP version and downloaded a new load of CO6 into XP. Still receive the same message with no remedies? Any possible remedies? All four of the lower button options lead to a turned off site and no way to possibly recover or register the software or whatever. License should not be a problem because I should have been licensed and approved by the payment of my money for the Samys IQ180 class.

Based on your description I assume you get a dialog like the one below:
http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h366/Paul_S57/CO6Pro_MissingSession.png
This state implies that:
- CO6 Pro or DB has started properly; no need to reinstall
- if you did not get a 'License / Welcome to Capture One' dialog before this dialog, your copy is activated properly
- the program wants to load a session it has used when closed last time but can not find it
If this occurs on both systems, you might have done some cleaning on your system (to start the new year, 😁 ) or whatever has happend, it is missing a session file/and or the default Capture One Library session file Capture One.col50. Note: a *.col50 file is a session file.
How to cure? Delete the user preference file (named user.config) on each system. This will have CO6 create a new default session file if missing. More details on this step can be found in the following KB articles: 1134, 11580 -
Paul, Thanks. That IS the screen I get. I will try the cure but I don't know if I can even get into CO6 far enough the delete that file. I'll keep you posted.

You're welcome. Delete the USER.CONFIG file from Windows Explorer. Let us know whether you need more assistance.0 -
Paul,
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! It worked to go all the way back into the "Users" folders. I downloaded and deleted it several times and it never worked until I went into the "Pictures" and "Users" folders. I do have a question. What is inherent difference between the 64 and 32 bit programs. I am running Windows 7, with 12GB of RAM and am shooting the IQ180 RAWs. Wow! What a machine that 645DF is! Did some studio video of the camera, to include as a hallmark in my web sites.

The 32- and 64-bit version of the program have the same functionality. However, due to the 64-bits addressing space, a 64-bit Windows version can address a much larger address space (translate that to RAM) and make that space available to 64-bit software.
For your IQ180 files you need the 64-bit address space and based on your 12 GB RAM, you already have it.
Note: if you accidently would install a 32-bit version of CO6 on your 64-bit version of Windows with 12 GB, CO6 would NOT benefit from that amount of memory.

Hello I have C1 32 bit running on XP machine.
I get a similar, but slightly different problem:
Again upon opening it cannot ever open the previous session,

and the next box always shows the correct previous session in the the "recent sessions" list:

Why will C1 never find the previous session on opening?
After these 2 error boxes, it works fine.
Next time I start, the same issue!
Many thanks,

Hi Jon Paul,
It looks like your session file (Capture One.col50) can not be loaded as usual during startup, but this seems no problem when loading it manually from the dialog. I would first delete the user preference file user.config (see earlier post in this thread). It may point to a different session that is not available anymore or a session name that is not correct.
If that does not cure the issue, delete both the user.config plus the Capture One.col50. Both will be recreated when CO6 starts.0
