"NSInvalidSendPortException" when 5D MKII is Teathered
Hey guys!!
I'm trying to get my 5D to shoot teathered to my new Macbook Retina laptop with the latest C1 software, but when I plug it in and turn it on, I get the following error message:
Description: Exception: NSInvalidSendPortException. [NSMachPort sendBeforeDate:] destination port invalid
Domain: com.phaseone.captureone
http://ginoterribilini.info/uploads/c1-error.jpg
I tried a second MK2 body with the same results.
What does this mean??? Is there a way to fix it? Totally clueless...
Thanks!

Did you choose "Canon" in preferences? 0 -
Where in preferences should I select Canon? Initially, all these settings were default and I just deselected all the others except Canon and changed the extension to TIF. Maybe this will work?

Assuming you are using the Mountain Lion Operating System on a new retina machine (10.8 ) have you tried to run and tether to Capture One 6.4.2?

I'm having the same exact problem... same set up. Capture One Pro 6.4.3 Registered Copy on a Macbook Retina with Mountain Lion. 5d Mark II gives me the same error as the original poster:
"Exception: NSInvalidSendPortException. [NSMachPort sendBeforeDate:] destination port"
Additionally, My Leaf Aptus 22 also will not tether and gives me:
"Description: Exception: Unspecified error.. (340#2147680262) Leaf camera communication error (LeafSDK): A connection error has occurred. Please try to reconnect the camera back.
Domain: com.phaseone.captureone"
What gives? I'm pretty fed up at this point...-1 -

It appears that Canon software within CO6 is still not working with Mountain Lion. See:

Yep! Downgrading back to 6.4.2 worked!

Hi all
Just a little note:
I realized that all recent cameras (5DMK2, 5DMK3, D800) work perfectly fine in tethered mode on Aperture 3.
And no need to change any settings and restart...
How did they do it ? 😄0 -

Aperture creates its own USB communication protocol as appose to using the software provided by the manufacture. Although this works for tethering, it is limited in other features and often much slower.
As a side note all the Camera's you just listed are supported in Capture One 6 tethered, it is simply the 10.8 Operating System that causes the conflict.0 -
Currently testing those cameras with version 6.4.2, 6.4.3 and 6.4.4 and Mac os 10.7.5 and no Canon seem to be working since 6.4.3.
D800 is ok since 6.4.3.
Does switching to 10.8 solves the problem ?0 -

I'm having the same problem with my iMac running OS X 10.7.5 and with CO 6.4.3, but I have no problem on my macBookPro running OS X 10.7.5 with CO 6.4.2.
Is the only solution to downgrade CO, and how do i do it?0 -

Currently, this is the best solution. Download and install 6.4.2. You can find the download from the software archive on the download page..0
