Bulb and Timer capture - No time box
Hello,
I started evaluating Capture One Pro for astrophotography purposes and whereas I was really impressed with all the features and great GUI design, I could not set the exposure time when my camera shutter is in BULB.
Generally for photos of deep sky objects we need much longer than 30s. I currently use CamRanger, but it is a bit unreliable as the connection drops very frequently. I'm happy to have a wired solution.
So, is there a way to set the BULB time when the camera is in BULB mode?
I have a Nikon D5300.

This is not currently supported by the Nikon SDK, and as such isn't available as an option in Capture One.
My strong suggestion is to use a cable release with a built in timer/intervalometer - These can be found as inexpensively as $20 on amazon & ebay and work incredibly well. They can be used for time lapse photography, but in your case it would be a simple matter of programming the timer to hold the shutter open (in bulb mode) for as many seconds as necessary. Very easy and cheap.0
