Patch + EM2 = PhaseOne ROCKS!!!
Is there a time line or any info to share on when we will get a patch for EM2?

Could be a tad more specific, what kind of patch are you looking for? 0 -
Anything would help!
I'm not sure what they have planned and have never seen a list of what they are working on. So it is kinda hard to be more specific.
The problems I have with EM2 were supposedly recorded and sent to Phaseone during the transition from microsoft.
My biggest concern is importing CDs or DVDs on a Mac. It take 3 hours minimum to import a 4.2 Gb dvd of jpgs.
It was explained to me that the software is treating the DVD as if it was a hard drive. EM2 tries to read and write several files at the same time...great for hard drives, almost impossible on a DVD.0 -
In the words of Drew and Jon, go to P1's main page and under support, create a support case so you know the issue is logged and if they have a fix, then you will be told about it. 0 -
So you are saying that we are in the dark again?
PhaseOne isn't going to talk to us either?
In order to find out ANY information I have to open a support case?
Seems to me they should post a list of problems that they are working on, estimate on patch launch...SOMETHING!0 -

They have not in the past, so I do not see any change in that happening. As the admins say, create a support case, and they will have it to answer.0 -
Expression Media 2 is in it's infancy with our company. We are working on progressing the software but as the transition from Microsoft to Phase One is fairly recent we are still digging through data to find the good stuff. If you create a support case we can look into something specific for you, otherwise we'll provide a list of any "known issues" or "future features" if and when we can. 0 -
First I must say I blame microsoft almost 100% but, between microsoft ruining iView and PhaseOne remaining silent about future fixes I will be forced to switch to Extensis. It isn't my preference but I have to answer to others who decided after my report on the current status EM2 to abandon it and move on. ☹️
All my time and trouble down the drain...
This is my first experience with a company that totally screwed up a software product then abandoned it. I'm sure PhaseOne will do a good job...I just don't have the rest of my life to wait around for the patch!
Sad...very sad0 -
Macsrock,
Do what you have to do.
Rest assured we are still working on it. We aren't as big as microsoft so it takes some time. Although we'd appreciate your patience we know your time is valuable and hopefully you'll come back to it down the road.0 -
Trust me Drew...I DO NOT want to switch to ANY other DAM software. I found iView Multimedia on the internet in the late 90's. It was awesome even back then!
PhaseOne is a great company and I have no doubt that Expression Media will be fixed and continue to lead the pack. I have been fighting to keep Expression Media, but I do not make the final decision. My bosses want this up and running now.

Let me be one more voice calling for a return to iView MediaPro's greatness! I loved iView as it was, stuck with it as it crap-ified via Microsoft, and am now excited for Phase One to do it right. PLEASE take care of this software. I have been, usually, real pleased with it, but seriously it took a turn for the crap when it became a Microsoft product. Please make it an exceptional product again! 0 -
Maybe this is Apple's fault, but when will EM2 support "new" RAW-formats, like Panasonic GF1? This was never a problem on Windows, where I could just install a codec from the manufacturer, but on Mac this is not possible. And Apple says it's not their fault.
So, what are we supposed to do about this?0 -

Go to Help, About Microsoft Expression Media and it will tell you which version you have. Mine says Microsoft Expression Media Service Pack 2, Version 2.0.2096.0
If you bought it after P1 took it over, I don't know if they have changed anything in it yet which may have changed that screen. Hopefully someone from P1 can tell you.
