Colour Editor tab wont open
HI,
I've just done a fresh install of C1 (latest version) after replacing my harddrive in my laptop. Fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64 on a new SSD. For some reason now the Colour Editor tool refuses to open. It worked fine with the old harddrive and install so I'm thinking its not a hardware issue.
I've deleted the Colour tool tab and replaced it - but it still wont open. Whenever I click on the little arrow on the left of the tool tab to try to open it all tools in the Colour tab minimise.
Any ideas? ❓

Matt,
navigate to the .exe file, right-click, and "Run as Administrator".
Does that make a dfference?0 -
Thanks Keith - Tried it but still no luck. 0 -
OK - so I solved the problem. It seems that there is insufficient room vertically to open the tool if there are any other tools on that tab - even if they are all closed. If I create a new tool tab with just the colour editor in it it works fine. The moment there are other tools there isn't enough room vertically on the monitor to open the tool.
As to why it used to work on the old install but not now - who knows. But problem solved when it's in it's on tool tab.0 -
Great you solved it. I was considering to suggest you open the editor as a floating tool from the Window menu. 0 -
Thanks for the explanation, Matt - I was stumped! 0 -

That's actually what solved it for me. After doing a complete uninstall and delete of everything C1 related (including registry) and then reinstalling from a new download I still had the problem. That's when I thought if trying it as a floating tool. Once that worked I knew the tool was ok so I just tried it in it's own custom tool tab.
Wish I'd thought of that sooner!!0 -
I have something slightly simlar with a couple of the more populated tool boxes (but not the colour Editor strangely, or at least not that I have seen). They will open but the lower lines are scrambled sometimes. If I float the most commonly troublesome one the new floating wiondow does not scale to full width required - but the lines are otherewise usually OK.
I think the problem is something to do with scaling on the monitor. Resetting the scaling values seems to make everything work again. A new version of Catalyst seems to induce a few problems - but only sometimes.
I can live with it. I've seen worse elsewhere in the past ...
