Where do deleted images go to?

Are you sure you didn't simply delete it from a user collection? In that case it's still in your catalog: look inside "All Images" to find it.

    John,
I use Catalogues; as you suggested I went to 'All Images' and it wasn't there.

It would appear that Capture One is deleting images permanently.

It gives you a warning before deleting.

Unless you turn the warning off?

    Richard,

    You should have access to at least 2 approaches to deletion;

delete to trash or delete to system trash but in some situations I guess the system trash might be by-passed.

You will probbaly recall a number of post here that demand the right to delete without any follow-up recourse to needing to empty a trash bin somewhere.

Which function did you use for deleting in this case?

File recovery software might be able to recover the image but if it was on a main storage device rather than a smaller card it's not a task I would be tempted to initiate unless I was extremely desperate.

I wasn't given a warning before finishing deleting.

How do I set up Capture One to set delete to trash or delete to system trash as it doesn't seem to be doing either; once deleted the images are nowhere to be found?

    Richard

Are you working with a catalog or a session?

If I'd looked to see you were also in the UK, I would have said catalogues, not catalogs, too.

Having asked, I'm not sure I can help, then, as I use Sessions. But hopefully someone who is more familiar with the catalogue way of working will be able to help.

I'm sorry to steal the thread but a similar thing happened to me. I found my image in "all images" and now I'd like to put it back into its original "recent imports" folder. How do I do this? It's driving me crazy!

I've just deleted an image that I didn't mean to and it isn't in the Capture One Trash folder nor is it in the Windows 10 Recycle bin.

So where does a deleted image go to and is there a way to set up Capture One so that any deleted images go tothe Capture One Trash folder?

    Richard

I'm on Mac, with a session, browsing image folders. But I'll ask it nevertheless.

I have an adjusted raw, create a clone. Maybe do some additional adjustments. Then I change my mind and trash it. Tool tip states 'Move the primary variant to the Session Trash...'. Variant deleted, no warning. After trashing the variant, trash is empty.

Only when I trash the last existing variant it goes to trash. And I only see a warning popping up when I empty the trash or choose to 'delete permanently'.

So the trashed variant is deleted, not trashed, and it goes without warning. Is this in line with what you see?

    Hans
