You can't. This is addressed in the release notes. Canon does not send the camera orientation data as part of the live view feed.

    Fair enough..

Although DSLR Assistant does manage to provide a solution which is to provide a rotation button for the image on screen. Which works great, maybe something like that could be worked in.. That way it wouldn't require the rotation info from the camera.
Just a thought as its stopping me using the software really..

So what is your current workflow? Are you using DSLR assistant for an end to end solution?

Regardless of orientation being fed, there should be an option for manual rotation of the video feed (e.g. doing an x-y translation for each pixel) to the desired orientation. If it's in C1 8, I apologize, I haven't had a chance to try out Live View with 8.0 yet.

Im not being an apologist, just stating what the release notes say. I know this feature has been requested a lot... perhaps a few more official requests via the support case tool would add fuel to the fire.

True, and this takes time to implement. Time that delays releases for the majority of the users to introduce a feature that to date only a few dozen have requested.
We're still working on improvements so who knows what the future holds, but for now we rely on the Canon and Nikon SDK so if they provide rotation options, so do we. To be honest, we'd much rather Canon and Nikon address features for their cameras then we spend time providing solutions for them… and so far they do not have this feature.
