Tethering problems with 3.7 and 1ds & 20d
I tried to address this problem in the beta ver of 3.7 over at rawworkflow.com but I guess my concerns were never addressed before the final version came out. I am forced to use ver 1.3 on my 1ds because it is the only version that works flawlessly tethered.
With 3.7 I cant seem to get the \"new session\" icon to work like it does in ver 1.3.....If I make a new session the program does not automatically switch to the new session and display images without have to hit the \"refresh\" icon. I have to: make the new session then exit the program, restart the program with the new session I just created active, and only then will it display images captured. As soon as I shoot an image the \"new session\" icon gets greyed out and the only way I can get it back is to select another session already created and then make a new session and again exit the program and restart.
Also another concern is that I have the box checked in preferences to use the camera counter but it does not use it and numbers the files starting at 00001,2,3 for as many images that I shoot in the session. If I get a new session started it starts numbering all over again in that session.
Am I completely off base with this or am I not creating the sessions in the proper manner? My work flow in ver 1.3 was.....Make a file in the root directory with the job name such as\" Columbus dog show\" select this file as the \"root\" capture file, make a new session in the file with the clients name such as \"jones\", shoot some images until the client finds one he likes then I could make another session for the next client such as \"smith\" and the captures would automatically be displayed in that session. NONE OF THIS WORKS IN 3.7!! I have to constantly referesh the images or leave the program and restart. The numbering bug is really bad because when I finish the job I have numerous files with the same numbers. Even though the prefex is different In ver 1.3 Ive been dropping the prefex (jones or smith) and using the origional file numbers from the camera.
Ive waited patiently for half a year for 3.6 then 3.7 to come out so I could use my 20d. Do I need to wait for another update to fix these problems?

Paul,
When software misbehaves this badly, it is time to wipe it off and start with a clean installation. Seems as though you have conflicting versions on your system.
Complete Uninstall instructions are available at Knowledge Base article #1665
http://support.phaseone.com/KB/Home/Sea ... nguageID=1
Once you have a clean install of v3.7, be sure the File > Preferences... > Capture Options tab that the Process immediately when capture arrives is checked. This will create the Preview file just after the Thumbnail.
Sincerely,

Keith, I have followed your advice and completely removed Phase One and any associated files from my machine. I have gone completely thru my registry and emptyed my recycle bin. I have a support case started #9197 but could not figure out how to get back to it. They also told me to remove all of C1 from my computer. I have removed all versions and only reloaded Ver 3.7. I just tried to create another support case and as soon as I hit submit it took me to a \"login\" page but I was already loged in. I coppied what I have wrote and have pasted it here.
I should start this by saying I have a support case #9197 but could not figure out how to get back to it. I am using a pc, pentium4, windows xppro. I have been told via support to remove all copies of C1 and reinstall program. I have done this and have completely gone thru my registry and removed anything to do with phase one, cleaned all Phase One files off of my drive, completely emptyed my recyle bin, reinstalled Phase One C1 and am still having the same problem. C1 will not automatically display the captured images unless I close the program down and restart. To reiterate my workflow.
I create a job file and select it as the root folder. I create a \"new session\" with the clients name via the green \"new session\" folder icon. The folder shows in the session tab and has the \"camera\" icon in it. I then take images that never display unless I click the \"referesh\" icon. (I have checked the box to \" display immediatly\") If I close C1 and restart C1 the images will then display automatically but the normally green \"new session\" icon is greyed out. If I take an image the \"new session\" icon becomes green again while the image is downloading but then goes \"greyed out\" and the only way to get it green again is the click on another folder tab but if I make another new session I have to close C1 and start all over. No matter what I do C1 will not use the camera numbers even tho I have that box checked in preferences and starts each session with ... Smith-000001, Smith-000002 or Jones-000001, Jones-000002.
I have no problems using ver 1.3 on any of my 4 computers I only have this problem in Ver 3.7.0
