4.0 Pro, WHEN???
Dear PhaseOne,
we need a timing for a 4Pro release. You have a production schedule for sure. You told us that 4.0 is modular, so it's easier to program and to develop.
So give us a scheduling for the new release.
Again, we pay 30.000 Euros for P45+ and we have no support on new computers with Leopard pre-installed.
Don't say 3.7.7 is OK, because it is not, it keeps crashing randomly during fast shooting, while using focus tool, or just transforming to JPG.
WHEN is scheduled 4.0 PRO???
Thank you
Alan

The modular structure of CO4 makes it easier to maintain and to provide updates faster in the first place, not easier to program or develop, I think. It also allowed PO to release the limited CO4 light version months before the Pro because of the basic modules being finalized. Feedback on the current light version will improve CO4 Pro in features and stability, I assume.
Not being a PO-back user myself, I understand you are in difficult situation. Though I have not seen any time schedule for release, I expect a CO 3.7.8 Pro shortly. Let's see what it does on Leopard as well. By the way, have you tried to install 3.7.7 with the workaround for the installer on Leopard?
Software companies large and small seldom give release dates, especially not for software that is released through the Internet without the CD + Box production phase of retail releases. Code is changed until the last minute before release. For example: Apple this week revealed in a forum that a raw updates was upcoming, but without release date or supported cameras.
I know this does not help you today, but hopefully CO 3.7.8 is here in a few weeks.0 -
It's months I ask for 3.7.8. And it's months they say it's imminent.
By the way, I have nothing to do, I must wait and tell my clients to stop shooting while I restart the software...
It's' ridicolous for a 30.000 Euros digital back!
Ciao
Alan
PS: the workaround you talk about is for installing 3.7.7 on Leopard, not for having it more stable. Of course I installed it and the problem is the stability and reliability of the program. It's totally lost.0
