5.0 Pro Backward compatable
I have CO 5.0Pro running on my MacBook Pro and CO 4.8Le running on my Mac Pro tower. Anyone know if you can read the adjustments made in 5.0Pro in 4.8LE. I'm in the process of making a couple hundred adjustments in 5.0Pro to files on a drive accessible by both machines and I don't see the adjustments to those raw files when viewing on the machine running 4.8Le.
I see the Capture One folder with folders both labeled 4.5 and 5.0 on the drive.
Thanks,
Pete

I am almost sure that CO 4.8.x cannot read (all) the adjustments made by CO 5 (vice versa no problem). But why not installing CO 5 Pro on both machines? No problem as long as you have sufficient activations and you do not use them at the same time (which is my simple interpretation of the license agreement). 0 -

Hi Paul,
The situation as far as the license is this. I was given a license by a client whom when I shoot for them I use my own laptop. They had purchase a multi-license user version of CO4pro. They gave me a serial number to activate on my laptop so as to shoot tethered for them. They said they had planned on one of the users to me me when they purchased the mulit-license. Now one thing I never have been sure about is if I can use that serial number to activate Pro on my tower. When I look at my account on the Phaseone website, I see many computers associated with my registration. It is very confusing as to how the whole multi-license works. Computer 1 seems to be my laptop looking at the latest activation date. When you purchase a single user license, you can install it on two personal machines, a desktop and Laptop. So when you purchase a 5 user multi license does that mean you can place it on 5 laptops and 5 desktops?
So can I use the license code again to activate on the desktop since the website says I have one activation left? Don't know if that is for all of the multiuser license or just the one I'm using?
Or Can I deactivate one system and then activate the other? and go between the machines as needed? (Is that what you were saying ?[quote="Paul_E" wrote:

Or just purchase another version of 5.0 for my desktop?
Thanks,

Pete,
I am not a license wizard myself. I prefer to leave these kind of questions to the Phase One folks to jump in for when they hang around here. Buying your own license sounds as a most convenience solution mainly because you have 2 computers you like to have CO running on.
You could open a support case with Phase One and they will be happy to help you out.0
