Capture One 6.4.2 and Canon 5D problem

    Syd,
Please review the release notes of the software, the Canon 5D is not supported tethered in Capture One 6.
This is due to a direct decision that Canon has made in their SDK. Tethered support for the Canon cameras is only available through the Canon SDK we are able to use and the current iteration, provided by Canon, does not contain tethered support for this camera.

this is a pretty old problem really. Best option is to either a: get a new camera (like the mark 2, which works fine), or b: use Apple Aperture to shoot tethered, because that seems to be the only software that still works shooting tethered to the older 5D. FYI, Lightroom 4 won't work with the 5D tethered either.

    Hi there,

I just downloaded the 6.4.2 version as my brand new mac pro has the 10.7.4 firmware installed.
Capture One opens fine and seams to work correctly if I import images but when I tried to connect a 5D (old first model), capture shows the camera as connected but the camera is stuck on 'busy'. I cannot do anything at all.

Haven't got the chance to try with other cameras yet..

Anyone with the same problem or with an advice on what to check??

    Cheers

    Syd

    🤓
Or you could just use Canon's FREE tethering software that came with your camera, then use the Hot Folder option in Capture One.

(although the version of Capture One referenced is out of date, the workflow is the same)
