Generating Previews

I have 7.0.1 on Mountain Lion and after importing a couple hundred images and doing some renaming it is churning away for hours and I get a progress window that says something like: "Generated 6 out of 10 Previews-About 12 hours left"
Anyone having this issue?

  I've had a similar thing with a previous version (6 when it was new I think) occasionally. If I remember rightly, it could help just to quit the app and open it again.

  Maybe not all previews were generated when you did the renaming. Try to let it create previews first, next you start with renaming. Might be faster.

  I'm having similar issues. It seems to be taking for ever to generate previews on a simple import of 20 images from a card reader. And on the rare occasion that tethering should work switching from one thumbnail to another the previews often are scrambled if they open or I get a combination of two images. Something bad is going on.

  I've been trying to reproduce this and so far it has been working fine. My guess is that Paul may be right about doing the batch rename while the previews were not finished generating and that clogged up the process.
