Can't sync a folder
Hi,
I deleted some files on a synced external network drive.
Then updated the folder on media pro on mac book pro.
No sync happened: files thumbs are still visible, yet when I click on the (mov videos) files, Media Pro says files is not there anymore.
How to recover sync for that folder, or is there a problem when deleting files from outside media pro, then syncing ?
(I deleted the missing files from inside Media pro, and was able to have the folder synced.... but it's not ideal way).

No expert here, but little activity on this site so, here goes...
By sync, I guess you mean "update folder?" Did you have auto-update on for the drive folder? That would make the folder icon green. If not, did you use mouse command to update the folder?
Think I've heard that it is best to import and delete images from within MP. Maybe best to use import and "move to recycle bin." Even though the point of folder watching is to allow you to add and delete directly from the folder.
Do you have a single installation of MP on the laptop with image files on a desktop?
Not sure if "reset path" is applicable or potentially useful here. I think the purpose is to find missing files.0 -
Media Pro is a cataloging application, it does not automatically delete missing files. There is a menu option under Find called Find Missing Items. This enables us to inspect the catalog with regards to missing items and manage each item more precisely.
The auto-update folder feature is intended to scan the folder for new items and add those as they are found. Create a support case if you find this aspect to be defective.
The auto update folder feature is described on page 130 in the user guide:
