Canon EOS 1D Mark III and Capture One Pro - compatibility?
I have a Canon EOS 1D Mark III. Loverly! Very happy.
Just bought Capture One Pro V3.7.7 (was told it was the latest edition available - I see there is a Version 4 out there!). Ah well.
Anywho, I found on the internet someone saying that my version supports my camera but when I try and upload my RAW pics using the camera attached to the computer, I get an error message. Am I doing something wrong?
I can get the photos uploaded using my card-reader, though. Is this ok?
I am sorry if these are idiotic questions but I am very new to this whole shebang!
Thanks
Frances

The only mistake you've made is arguably your choice of processing software. You haven't said you expect tethered capture so you have options--lightroom, aperture--but I don't think capture one supports the Mark III for tethered shooting anyway even if you're using an old OS.

Thank you.
What is "tethered capture"?0 -
Not nearly as exciting as it sounds--shooting straight to the computer via firewire. 0 -
So, without this tethered capture thingy, am I missing out on anything by importing my pics via a card reader?
Also, if I import JPEGs (forgot to set my G9 properly somehow), can I do any "altering" or should I just work on them in Photoshop?
Thanks

Well these are determined by workflow considerations and personal preference so I can't answer that. If you haven't been missing tethered capture you probably don't need it. It tends to be favoured by photogs and clients who like immediate visual feedback and when you get to that place where it'll be helpful you'll know it. Good luck. 0 -
I;ve only been the proud owner of this App for one whole day so I am new to this whole concept.
Until now, I was using Lightroom Pro and also have Aperture (which I do not get on with at all!).
Spose it is just personal preference. Capture One Pro was introduced to me by a professional photographer and he said it was brilliant so off I went a-shopping.
