Crashing when shooting tethered with Canon 1ds Mark 3

I have been testing Capture one pro 4.8 for shooting tethered with a Canon 1ds Mark 3 and I am having repeated crashing problems once the folder gets around 100 images capture one freezes, but the camera is allowed to keep shooting frames, but they never come through to the computer, I have the camera set to not shoot without card so it should not be able to fire. and once unplugging the tethered cable the camera displays "busy" and freezes on busy until turning the camera off
the only way to get it going again is to force quit capture one, and lose the files that should be coming through, and turn the camera off and start all over again....

any ideas on what the problem could be??

running Mac os x 10.5.6, intel core 2 duo 2.16 ghz, 2gb of ram with capture one 4.8 and 160gb of hard drive space free (320gb - 7200rpm)

    OS 10.5.7 is supposed to be the answer to all our prayers. 💡

    Or so we keep being told........ fingers crossed!! 😕

    When Apple sped-up the USB bus in 10.5.6 they accidently made a memory leak in the ImageCapture extension. It seems that Apple has corrected their mistake with 10.5.7. It is true, the Canon Mark III tethering problems were an Apple glitch, not Capture One.
