Windows 7 and Canon Digital Rebel XT tethering issues
Hello,
I have tried to connect my Canon Digital Rebel XT for tethered shooting on my Windows 7 32-bit PC but to no avail. No matter what combinations of settings I try nothing seems to work. I have switched the PC connection mode on the camera and still continue to get errors.
I was wondering if this is something I'm doing wrong or if it is a problem with Windows 7/Capture One?
Thanks!

I don't know if the Canon Driver allows for tethering to a 64 bit environment and/or Windows 7.
Can you confirm that the Canon Software allows for tethering? If so you can use the Hot Folder option at the very least.0 -
Despite running a 32-bit Windows version, the needed Canon driver for the Digital Rebel XT (a.k.a. 350D) is not Win 7 compatible. Unless you can prove us otherwise by connecting your camera after driver installation to the Canon software, you are out of luck with Windows 7.
Best workaround is a Win XP virtual machine which is freely available from Microsoft if you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate (not a kind of Home edition).0 -
Okay, thank you for the help!
I will try the virtual machine 😊0
