You can download the new version of MP on POs homepage.
As my SDD died this morning 😡 , I have to wait for my spare drive but I am eager to hear, how the new version works out for you...

I downloaded and just started testing and I'm very excited because the rendering times are finally GOOD! Woo-hoo! Phase One Media Pro is FINALLY rendering as quickly as the old iView version I've been using for years. Haven't done further testing, but this is a good moment for Media Pro. Gives me hope! I'm on a Mac, btw. Hope other users are having good luck too. 0 -
Do you use the PO rendring engine? 0 -
The upgrade from MP v1.2 to v1.3 works somehow, but the software installation configuration and detection is still not implemented correctly.
With every upgrade installation I do receive deeper installation paths like "x:\path\Media Pro 1\Media Pro 1\Media Pro.exe" because I am not using the default windows installation directory, which seems to be "C:\ProgramData\Phase One\Media Pro". During installation the definition of installation path is possible, but it is not at all clear, if additional subdirectories are created and duplicate SW version is installed. This is quite inconvenient, because the various options for moving installation files, de-installation and re-installation are risky, time consuming and not really fun. And with additional risk, that you loose your specific MP settings.
I just checked my windows system and now I really have two full versions of MP installed. And Windows "Programs & Setting" does not report the version which can be deinstalled. Just two lines called "Media Pro" without any version information. There seems to be no correct detection of already installed version and there is no usual definition and final confirmation check of required installation path. This is quite basic know-how and standard requirement for state-of-the-art installation/upgrade software.
Regards from PhaseZero
P.S.: After de-installations and new installation I can confirm that MP does create always a subdirectory \Media Pro 1\ in the defined installation directory. So not this subdirectory but the parent directory has to be used for upgrade installations.0 -

You just made me go look at my system.
My Win 7 control panel shows two Media Pro programs installed and available for uninstall. But it does date them and give me the version. One is version 1.1 installed on May 17, the other is Version 1.3 installed on 6/4.
Since everything seems to be working now, I'll leave the vers 1.1 alone.0 -

No, I'm using apple because I've read that's faster. I'll test out PO rendering when I get a chance.0 -

Thanks Jim for fast feedback. My WinVista does show only date and installation volume (MByte) but no version. After the whole installation trouble, I detected, that some of my settings were lost. Luckily I made a copy of the whole installation directory (always a good idea) before complete de-installation.
My most important setting is the modified file import list in the installation directory ".../Plug-ins/Importers/Custom.txt". For further information about "custom.txt" see: [The Capture One forum has migrated to a new platform, as a result all links to Capture One related postsstopped working and have been removed].

I have to say I am more pleased with this version using the Windows rendering and a lot has been fixed although I am still sometines getting the crash report dialogue when exiting.
Tried the Phase one rendering and it is terrible, worse than before, and none of the alterations made in CO6 now show when you rebuild as they used to do before. Luckily for me I am not interested in using the Phase One rendering engine.0 -
As a Mac user, I am still totally unsatisfied with Media Pro. I wrote a lengthy post about what was broken in the first release, and while I'm glad to see more versions coming out, most of the most basic issues have yet to be addressed.
Most importantly, zero percent of my raw images are rendered accurately or quickly, as they did in EM and IVMP. They're basic DNGs with embedded previews. Not that difficult, people. I see a very pixelated preview and, depending on the camera I used, get either a Phase One-rendered RAW file (not helpful) or (more commonly) just an error message.
PLEASE, PhaseOne, PLEASE address these issues! I am still using Expression Media. I don't want to be. I want to use Media Pro. I want to use a product that works and is truly being supported. Please? Please.
Ugh... sorry, everyone else.
Cheers,

I support your call Cory.
MP is worse than EM on several important issues but all i wanted was an improved version of Expression Media...
In the meantime i'm using EM also and orientating on alternatives.

Brief follow-up: Found a list of new features/fixes in 1.3: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/5534/media-pro/
Nice to see so many changes. But still... it doesn't render my DNGs.0 -
It's still useless to me.
I teach in media history. Back in the days of iview, you could drag and drop images form iview into powerpoint to create lectures. Microsoft (!) broke it so that when you drag and drop (on the Mac), you get xml code. You can cut and paste, but it cuts and pastes the largest thumbnail it has, not the original image.
Still no use to me. ☹️0
