In CO under User Collections if you create a group and then albums within it, clicking on the group will not show any images from the albums within. However if you create a project and albums within it does show all images when you click on the project entry.

Folders as you have found out does not do this - stick to creating a User Collection hierarchy that mimics your folders structure. You can also include smart albums under User Collections which you can’t do in Folders.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that approach. I will look into it.

One issue I have found is that, when you import a Lightroom Library into Capture Pro, LR 'collections' are converted into 'groups', not 'projects'. If you have a lot of imported collections, it is a lot of work to re-create projects and move your photos/albums around.

I came from Aperture, sounds like Lr imports also had issues. Hopefully it works for you.

In a referenced catalog, is there anyway to set-up Capture One so that it will display all of the photos in all sub-folders when you select a folder higher up in the directory structure?

I was also hoping the parent folder would display all the photos in the child sub folders also. Seems like this would make a lot of sense.

Media Pro does this. It's called show "Union of Folder Hierarchies." This has been a feature since at least 2003 (with the original iView MediaPro).

The feature makes using Media Pro a very satisfying experience (and it has become essential to my work). I can't understand why Capture One would not have this ability. It seems so basic. One more reason for me to continue using Media Pro and not purchase Capture One.
