Unfortunately most of the speed issues still have not been fixed even though two months have passed since the initial release of Version 10. This version is slightly slower than 10.01 on start-up, filters are still not usable nor is the "all images" collection or any other collection with a larger number of images. I have several support cases open but do not get any help or feedback besides "R&D" is working on it. Also calling the support team did not help much.

I have a support case open as well. Good to hear that R&D is working on it.

If one doesn't have the "wrong" type type of Metadata, you'll never see the speed/filters/Metadata issue; I suspect that's why this issue hasn't been detected in PO internal verification until now. The info in my ticket (screen capture video, dB file, root cause analysis) was treated as new information in early January, so I suspect work on a fix hadn't yet started at that time. My support guy was able to open my catalogdB and observe the problem, and I think that may be the first time they had recreated the problem - certainly the first time he had seen it. You can't fix a problem you can't recreate.

It will take a bit of effort to fix and verify, so perhaps this a bit early yet.

I consider "All images" as not implemented yet.

They probably much internal improvement to get it implemented and also stop to generate ALL review in the current folder/album...

For now, I use a smart album with appropriate filter to achieve filtered "All images".

My support case is from beginning of December 2016. As I hardly use any Metadata and removed the filter tool I suppose the issue is somewhere in the database changes they made from V9 to V10. The V9 catalogs all behave perfectly fine and much faster. Two months for (not yet) fixing a fundamental flaw in the database is in my opinion far too long for a professional software.

Using smart folders instead of the "all images" collection does not make any change for me: same slow startup and unresponsiveness.

Performance is a disaster with this new 10.0.2 - generating previews intermittently hangs for several minutes as does batch rename. It's as if the program suddenly encounters an image file that it needs to think about for a while, and then suddenly figures it out. Batch rename is almost useless. It seems to happen more with Nikon D500 files. Also every now and then C1 10.0.2 just spontaneously terminates during batch rename. This is with the Windows version.

Performance is absolutely great. It has never been faster for me. Batch remaining of 700 cr2s needs about 10 seconds. Create 700 new previews takes a few seconds.I'm working with 5d mark IV Raws, Sessions and with a quad MacPro 2013 D300 on the latest sierra. Phase one has done a really great job 😊

I have a problem, which has an open ticket and is being addressed.

I should point out that I have 52,000 images, with lots of metadata and adjustments in my catalog and that I do not have issues with version 9.3. Before I migrated a copy of my catalog to version 10, I moved the filter tool to its own tab.

The problem with version 10.0.2 is with the 15 min it takes after opening the catalog after selecting an image in All Images. I always exit with a small album selected to avoid the longer load times, so this is not an issue. If I open version 10.0.2, select an image from the small album and then select All Images, the process can take 15 min on my 2008, Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and lots of HD space. Thereafter navigating back and forth from and to All Images, takes about 1 min. This would not be a complete deal killer for me were it not for my need to run C0 on my Macbook Pro. The process does not complete for hours if I accidentally select All Images.

Support has been great about reviewing my findings and making suggestions. Although I make very frequent backups, during which C0 checks the integrity of the database, they suggested the catalog might be fragmented and that importing the version 10 database into a new blank database might defragment it. This does not explain why version 9 works just fine. After 16 hrs, the import was complete, but Capture One then began another process that Activity Monitor reported as using 59GB of memory with severe memory pressure and lots of disk churning with swap files. I force quit and because C0 apparently was not writing to the database, I was able to reopen it. The time for return of responsiveness after selecting an image in All Images was even longer after the import and C0 used 20GB or memory during this process.

None of these problems exist with C0 9.3. It is quite snappy and never seems to use more than 2GB of memory. I have suggested to support that there must be something version 10 must be doing that should be reflected in the code and therefore the answer must be there, given I am using the same hardware, and version 9.3 works great on all of my machines.

Same for me, between 9.3 and 10.0 : with 18,000 images, it took 5s on 9.3 and it takes 30s on 10 to display all the images after having selected "all images" to apply a filter, for instance. I submitted a case to Phase One, and sent them a record of the log activity from monitor activity on December 22, as they asked me to do it. They seem to work on it, but nothing for the time being.
I hope they will solve the issue very soon.

Anyone else is having speed issues?
The upgrade from 10 to 10.0.1 resolved some issues for me but now reading that 10.0.2 will make everything slower again and problems with filters?

Since I don't need the updates for the new lenses and cameras yet?

The question is, would you recommend to upgrade?

I also have big, big issues with the performance. Painful browsing experience, passing from image to image, really, really hard. Also, stuttering when selecting multiple images, etc.
Regardless if on latest 2016 Macbook Pro or 2011 i7 3.4 quadcore iMac.
I'm tired of submiting tickets to Phase One as I never found this useful, they have their own plans and they seem deaf to our complains.
The guys (or gals) who are content with the new version, please tell us about your configuration.
And the ones who are not content, please let's talk about our configurations, too.
As I already said, I use 10.0.1 version on 2016 MacBook Pro and on 2011 i7 3.4GHz iMac, both with 16GB RAM, both dual display configs.
I wonder, do I get this lousy performance because of the dual monitor setup? Anyone having the same troubles because of this?
Later Edit: I want to point out that with the same setups, Lightroom works like a breeze! Still a Capture One fan, for more than ten years, though, but I seriously wonder for how long in the future.

To be fair, I found the processing very good, but this not help too much if browsing and applying filters, selecting is so damn slow.

    Thank you!

Internet connection glitch just when I tried to post. Trashed the post but will not let me delete it.

What happens if you temporarily re-configure for just one monitor?

Are both of your monitors capable of the same resolution and set to the same settings?

Do you have one or two GPUs?

These, and I am sure other matters, may provide some indication of what could be going on.

No issue here at all, on my dual screen Mac Mini 2012 system (i7 3rd gen 2.3 GHz, 16 Go RAM, 512 Go SSD).

My catalog is quite small, admittedly (~1800 pics currently), 95 % of them ARW from a Sony RX100.

Hi, Grant, thank you for your reply

    1. Just tested one display configurations on both machines. There are, indeed, no problems in this case, both systems works quite fine.

    2. Both systems have two different display resolutions, indeed. But as I mentioned earlier, even Capture One stutters, Lightroom does work very well on both systems in dual monitors setups, with the very same raw images.

    3. I have two GPUS on the 2016 MacBook Pro and only one on the 2011 iMac. At the risk of repeating myself, Lightroom does not seem to care about this, working flawlessly with browser and tools on a monitor, and the viewer on the other one.

    Hi,

I work with version 10.0.0 of C1, on a MBP 15" Retina april 2014, plus a second graphic display (NEC 24"), and I don't have any problem. I have a catalog of 18,000 images, and the only issue I have is displaying all images when I want to apply a filter. It takes about 30 seconds (see above). It took 5 seconds with v9.
Yes, Lightroom too works well with a dual screen, except that with my "permanent" licence version (LR6), I cannot do any soft-proofing on my calibrated screen. I can do it with C1.

Is there anybody at Phase One working on Fujifilm X-T20 RAW files support? T_T I saw that the 10.0.2 now supports the X100F.
