color editor ...does it work on windows machines?

i am trying to use the color editor in version 5.0.1
it does not seem to do anything at all to the image..i have watched the tutorial multiple times and i am doing the exact steps and my images show no color changes..
am i doing something wrong or does this tool not yet function properly?

  Stan,
  It works. Just make sure you are using supported files.
