Weird behavior COP 6.4.2 ML 10.8.2
Hello all,
Yesterday I was shooting tethered with 5dmkii. The tethering worked fine (I know it's not officially supported since the Canon SDK doesn't support ML) but once in a while the preview of images got stucked at "pixelated" stage forever. The tethering would continue normally, images appeared in COP however they were pixelated.
To better explain what I mean, let's say you open a folder that contains a 1000 raw files. It takes a while for COP to load them. When you browse through the images before COP had the time to create the proxies etc image appears pixelated and after half a sec or so becomes sharp. That's the stage where COP got stuck several times during the shoot yesterday. I would continue to shoot the images would continue to appear in COP albeit pixelated. Restarting COP solved the problem however it appeared a few times and I had to restart the COP everytime. It also happened a few times going through the images already shot without shooting new images. All of this was very random. Sometimes it would work flawlessly sometimes it would get stuck.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything similar and what might be the solution to the problem?
Thank you,
Goran

Goran,
Sounds like a background application we have to "process" the images, that is read the files for render, was stuck.
The reasons why this may have happened would be based on workflow. If it just happened that day, then it may have been a fluke. If it happens consistently, please create a support case and provide us your System Profile and Software Logs so we can try to get more info on why it happened.

Thanks Drew,
It appears to be problem only in this specific session 😕
I tried to recreate it in other sessions. No success. In this session - browsing fast through images and boom. Stuck.
I won't bother myself too much about this but if it returns on the next shoot I'll open a support case.

The problem appears to be connected to OpenCL somehow. Disabling OpenCL in preferences solved the problem. I hope this gets sorted out since I've found other users on the net complaining about 5dmkii files and 6.4.2 version. I'd sure like to use opencl. I submitted my system profile and logs to support. 0 -
Hi Drew,
This has been happening to me also. Mountain Lion & 6.4.2
COP will work as normal for about 3 or 4 image renders and then gets stuck. I haven't been tethering.
I will create a support case at the link above.
I'll try the openCL trick and see if that gets me through.
Thanks,

this has been happening to me lately and it has been frustrating to say the least. I have tried reseting capture one per capture intergration steps and still no dice.
To me, it is 10.8.2. I took the camera straight over to an older iMac running 10.7.x and it worked just fine.
My work around right now:
1. Go into the preferences of capture one and turn off supported camears. Canon, nikon, phase, etc. Whichever is giving you issues.
2. Restart C1
3. Open Image Capture>File>Take Picture
4. Setup Where to Import Your Files. I stick them in my capture folder of my session for ease of use. For laziness, on the desktop.
5. Back in C1, just make sure you have Hot Folder Enabled and you will be good to go.
Now, this isn't as good as true tethering but it is working for me right now. I have always used this for my M8/M9. It blows my mind that Apple supports all these cameras! Oh yeah, this still works on a 5D!0
