how much ram is enough to run c1 pro 3.6 ?

    I suspect that your problem has little to do with the amount of RAM in your computer. I've shot a Canon 1Ds tethered into several different computers and haven't noticed any difference in speed between them. I think the delay has more to do with the time it takes the camera to initially process the file and then transfer it over the firewire cable. I also shoot fashion and find the slowness annoying. Unfortunately, I think we'll have to wait for Phase One to implement the improvements as technology advances. Hopefully you'll get some more opinions, but I don't believe that more RAM is going to help you out. Good luck.

    thanks for the post. i agree with what you are saying. that it is to much to ask of the machine and fw cable and db to pull the files down any quicker at the moment.

    i did however find that with an increase in the ram it did remove bottle necks that were happening when shooting repeatedly- there was a very noticible increase in performance from 2 gig to 3 gig of ram. and a marginal increase from 3 to 5 gig.
