Yes, that is the status in CO 6.0. Don't know whether this will be expanded. I think this feature will develop further based on user feedback as is often the case with new features (that is: new to Capture One in this case).

I very much hope this tool will be expanded...
Just a short while ago I posted a request to see selective adjustments in C1.
I made a wish that Phase One won't simply copy Adobe's concept of the selective adjustment brush in ACR, which is rather limited, and instead go for the concept found in high end compositing software - the ability to create selections/masks, which you can then use all the full toolset of the software on...
I havn't checked the new version yet, but from the promos it seems like a bit of a disappointment as far as I'm concerned

Try before you buy or even express any disappointment for that matter. Give yourself that opportunity!
Regarding new features there are always two ways to go. One: is it what I was expecting/hoping for? Expectations are an easy recipe for disappointment (being philosophical today). Two: let's see what we have here, what can I do with it, how is it implemented and so on. In short: discover and enjoy. Your choice.

I'll definitely check out the new version as soon as I have some spare time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset or anything... and to be fair C1's implementation seems a bit better than Adobe's.
It's just that I was hoping to see C1 go in a more "power-user" direction, providing more fine tuning options rather than tools with 1-3 sliders (and I'm not just talking about the selective adjustments here, for me the advanced color corrector and noise reduction tools are not advanced enough in terms of providing more discreet fine tuning options).

In any case, I do know that software improvements take time, and I welcome any improvement 😊
As I only just paid for v5 not long ago, the current improvements may not be enough to make me part with more money just yet 😉
