Output TIF file is black
When I process a raw file from a Canon 5D Mark III and I am looking at the file icon in windows file explorer I first see an icon placeholder with the file name, then I briefly see the picture that was processed, then it turns black. When I click on the TIF file to look at it in Photoshop CS6 it is still black. Did not have this problem with version 6.

There have been a few people reporting the same on the Forum.
It could be related to your Graphic Card, try turning the OpenCL option for Processing to "Never". If that doesn't do the trick please create a support case and we'll get the programers to have a look.
Sorry for the trouble.0 -
Where do I find that setting? I have a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT. 0 -
As a general FYI... Microsoft has issued a Hotfix for several issues surrounding the use of TIFF files in Windows 7 and Windows 7 SP1. This may be totally unrelated to your issue. However, it does affect all programs that render TIFF files through the native Windows image handling hooks.
I don't suggest this will fix anything here, but this isn't a bad idea to have applied to your system when working with TIFF files in general (for any application):
You can check the versions of your files on the page above, and if you think it's applicable, then click the big green Download button to authorize the distribution of the hotfix.
More context if you work with large quantities of TIFF files in Windows:
This fix will be included in some future patch of Windows (and probably is fixed in Windows 8 ).

I don't have black lines, it's a totally black file and it just happens with the new version of C1. Nothing else. I submitted a support case. 0 -
I heard back from support and they told me to set OpenCL in C1 preferences to never. I left it on for previewing and set it to never for processing and that fixed the problem. 0 -

Fantastic... this points us in the right direction!0 -
I just installed the EVGA GTX 560 Super-clocked card with 2 GB ram and my processing issue of having a black output TIFF file with OpenCL turned on has been fixed. I have OpenCL turned on for viewing and processing. 0 -
I had this issue when outputting from a Raw file to a Tiff ...but funny that when outputting from a Jpeg to a Tiff there was no problem with a black Tiff file..it only happens when a raw file is used for source image
in windows Explorer I could see the outputted Tiff file from a Raw..but when I open it it turns into a black image
so now I disable the open GL in processing..and all is good..but the processing does take a little longer0 -
All known OpenCL issues has been fixed in version 7.0.1. Try it http://www.phaseone.com/en/Downloads/Capture-One-7.aspx (you do need a fairly new driver though)

Thanks Lionel.
but for me its still the same issue..in fact it does it with Jpeg format as well as Tiff, when processing from a Raw file..in this case it was a DNG.
so Im still using "never" in open Gl processing preferences
Kind regards

I have the same issue...black JPEG's and TIFF's.. but turned off OpenCL and all OK... 0 -
Same problem and same fix: Odd that with Open CL on auto it worked for some time and suddenly needs it set to NEVER to work.
P1 should fix this issue. Another annoying time waster.
Kind Regards,

Upgraded today to 7.0.2 and had never had this issue before now. After I upgraded, exporting to tiff or jpeg gives me solid black images. Turned openCL processing to "Never" and it works now.
I don't think this issue is closed.0 -
Same here..just went from 7.0.1 to 7.0.2. Turned OpenCl back to auto and black images...turned off and all OK... ☹️ 0 -
Hi,
I had a similar problem when processing from RAW (Fuji RAF) to JPG into the output folder. Some images turned black.
After reading this thread I did the things with the Open CL (set to Never) which seems to solve the problem.0
