Install C1 9 .NET Framework blocked!

    That's an interesting challenge.

I have 9.2 installed with no problems on WIN7 SP1.

I have yet to try 9.2.1

.NET framework 4.6.1 is also installed dated back in March.

I assume you have probably already seen this Microsoft site relating to the problem?

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... 9(v=vs.110).aspx

I have seen a post elsewhere that suggest the problem goes away if Windows 10 is installed.

    Hmm.

If your Win7 updates are all applied you are in the same state as I am EXCEPT I have not installed the Pre-Win10 update "Preparation" program. However sine the reported problems found on line and in the MS link seem to stretch back well before the WIN10 conundrum appeared I would not imagine that would make any difference. But then, who knows. There will no doubt be several causes over time.

    Hello SFA:

The identical SW C1 and OS as well as .Net 4.6 run fine on another similar PC with same updates.

Due to the MS EULA and policy of telemetery (data thief or spying) of all your PCs SW, keys and data, our Security Dept. has prohibited W10 upgrades.

Therefore at the moment we must run in a W7 Pro SP1 environment.

    With Kind Regards,

    Hi Jon Paul,

Personally I am not in favour of using WIN10 either. I mentioned it only because someone posted that for their version of the problem the WIN10 install fixed things.

That suggests that some element of the Windows install, or perhaps the C1 install if it found it needed to install .NET4.6, did not happen correctly or completely.

So I wonder if that might in some way be connected to your Win10 update block interfering with an update at some point. However if the other PC that does work is indeed completely identical (or at least is expected to be completely identical) and has always had the same block .... then the idea seems unlikely.

I guess it would only take one bad entry in the registry or some other location to make it look like something is wrong.

I would suggest contacting both Phase and Microsoft support.

Phase to see if they have previous experience of this problem.

Microsoft to seek the information required to understand exactly what setting(s) might cause the problem.

There will most likely be a log file or two somewhere that can provide useful information. Probably some Windows diagnostic tools too.

    HTH.

Reading some more Google search references suggests that, if you have not already done so, double checking that you have all of the latest WIN 7 updates installed might be useful. The system showing that SP1 is installed may not be the whole story.

Maybe check for any hidden updates too, though I'm not sure whether you can hide "Important" updates.

    Hy,

first i thought, your W7 is on 32Bit, but when running C1 V8, it must be 64Bit. So I also think, that there are some Updates for Windows missing.
Because this is not a direct Problem of C1, I would also look in MS-Forums for a solution.

You can also check again, if SP1 for Win7 is installed. This is the most occuring reason for this Error.

    Hi Jon Paul,

Did you try a repair install of the .Net framework 4.6 ??

Hello all: I use Windows 7 Pro, SP1, with all updates installed, 64 bit version.

PC has 16 GB memory and quad core AMD CPU.

It runs Adobe CS6, C1 v 8 and all other SW.

The MS Forums and support for .Net 4.6 is useless, and I have already tried those solutions.

Phase One is responsible for the use of the very flawed .Net MS environment.

I suggest that P1 find a future way to design its SW without a .Net update requirement.

Note that the same SW, environment etc works fine on another PC with same OS and updates.

Open to your solutions and interested if I am the only one with .Net 4.6 blocked.

    Cheers,

    Jon

Indeed it seems the affected PC DOES NOT have Win SP1 installed! YOW, my mistake!

    Cheers, Jon
