Why No "Subtractive" Keyword Option?

The filter section allows only OR logical operators but not AND or others. For that you would have to use smart albums.

I would also love to see this changed, but have no idea how they should implement this UI wise.

On Windows if you are using the radio button filters yo can click on the 3 dots at the top right of the Filter tool and flip a setting for "Result matches all criteria".

I assume it is available on Mac too.

This then provides the option for Any match on ticked KW or the image must match all KWs.

The extension for a more complex option is the Advanced Search (Available for example from the Browser window) which is the basis of the Smart Album.

That options is available on the mac as well. However, it applies to the relation between different _types_ of filters, e.g. a Rating filter AND a KW filter. But 2 or more KWs are still OR'ed. Of course, that makes sense for all other types of filters (e.g., AND'ing different ratings makes no sense, an image can only have 1), but for KWs it would be handy.

Also, the text search OR's the keywords. Would be nice if one could type "landcape AND blue". Mmm, let's make a case for that! 😊

So it seems the only way to AND keywords is to use a smart filter.

    HTH,
    Peter.
