Capture One not reading xmp files?
Hello,
I know this question has been asked before but I've looked at what I can find but I'm still having problems so I hope you might be able to offer some advice?
I used to use Lightroom as my DAM application but I do all of my editing in Capture One.
I've stopped using Lightroom and am now evaluating both ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2018 & Adobe Bridge as replacements for Lightroom as DAM applications.
In either ACDSee of Bridge, if I make an alteration to the Metadata IPTC data (as well as keywords) the other application picks it up immediately; Capture One doesn't (sad face).
I have changed the settings in Capture One (Edit>Preferences>Image>Metadata) in various ways and can't get Capture One to pick up any changes made to the Metadata in either ACDSee or Bridge.
Phase One Support offered the following advice... "If you are saving the IPTC metadata to XMP files, then Capture One can read it. After making a change and saving it, go to the metadata tool an Capture One, click on the "..." menu and select Reload Metadata."
I've tried this but Capture One still isn't picking up the XMP data.
I've checked the metadata in the .xmp files (using ExifTool) and it has changed.
Is this because of a 'bug' in Capture One or am I missing something really obvious here?
Any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

Still an issue with latest versions of Adobe Bridge 2021 and Capture One 21 - both will write xpm after chamges (have to force sync with Capture one even though this is in prefernces and has been restarted) but neither will read the other one
