Not PhaseOne here, just another user...but it has been typical that COne as a third party supports the full RAW file first, then follows with the variations of that as a later release. I assume there's more work involved, and I'm personally happy they don't withhold support until it's full... 0 -
I have read this post and forgot all about it, I set my camer mraw. Errrrrrr 0 -
Did Phaseone planning support for Canon D5 mRAW and sRaw ?????? I think a lot of Canon users have the same problem that C1 not work with these files. It is time to do something, before all change to other software DPP, Lightroom .....
Since Version 6 of C1 the Software make always problems. Crash, slow, memory leak, colour problem flash in snow and a lot of more....and now? no full support for pro cameras. Next when i get the Canon D1x and i think we have the same problem with mRaw and sRaw.
Please tell my is planning in time the support for this files or not? so i can delete my c1 on laptop i think i have to do it as next when the memory leak not fix.....(when reading the raw files and create the proxys the memory is full and don’t give it free. only when close the C1 and start again. Also on Workstation with 16 GB Ram )
So my english is bad - but the software is more bad in this time0 -

The issue was also discussed on the CO6/Mac forum and acknowledged by Phase One staff. More here:

thank you for this answer. in futur? 1 Day 1 month 1year? think pro cameras need more priority like years ago. so we have to stop taken pictures ? and i hope the fix the problems with c1 since V6. C1 user requires a lot patience 0 -

As Drew points out in the other thread, Capture One is fine with full-sized 5D Mk III Raw files - you don't have to shoot mRaw or sRaw.0 -
i need mRAW. Full Size Raw are nice but on a brandnew notebook with best hardware i need to much time and to much crash with C1 also with the Wotkstation with 16 GB Ram!!!!!. and for press is normal Raw to much. 0 -

I can understand that your workflow, as well as many others, uses mRAW or sRAW. While I can appreciate that you may need this file structure, please be patient as we need more time to implement support.
Perhaps it is not ideal for you to use full RAW but it is the only solution we can provide for the time being. I apologize if this solution, again the only option we can provide currently, is not fitting for your workflow.
We hope to offer mRAW and sRAW support in the near future but there is no ETA at this time.0 -
There are more to the problem list. C1 also got problem when opening the final RAW of multiple exposures. The white balance is way off. The color tint need to move to the extreme in order to get a more natural looking result. LR4 does not have any problem processing the same RAW file. 😂
Multiple exposures is one of the selling point of 5DMK3. Will phaseone tell us to use PS if we want to take multiple exposures?0 -

Something seems not right. I shoot multiple sequential shots with my Canon 60D all the time, and I do not see what you see. I'll shoot them in a variety of camera settings (all raw, but never tethered) and I have never seen this problem with any version of CO Pro.
If you would, post 3 raws in dropbox or yousendit (or something similar), 1st, middle, last, and I'll take a look on my system.

Jim, thank you for your interest. If I am not wrong, multiple exposures are newly available only to 5D3 and 1Dx, so your experience on 60D is not likely to be relavent

I agree that the 5D3 has the new feature that I don't have of combining the exposures in camera. I have to combine my shots outside. But all three shots I take when I bracket exposure all use the same wb.
Are you saying that if you bracket exposures (like for an hdr) and look at each of the raws, that the last one has a different wb? Per the site you gave me, the camera output for your camera is only one raw. Or are you saying that the one processed raw from the camera has a "unnatural" wb?
The article does say that "One important note: if colors in any overlapping areas are different when using the "Bright" or "Dark" settings, unnatural colors may result" which would certainly change a wb calculation.0 -
Open the file in C1, you will see the problem. Open it again in LR4, you'll see what it should have looked like. 0 -

I just did that, and I see what you mean - the histograms as displayed by each program are quite different in the "as shot" wb. The red and green channels almost appear to have switched positions.
edit
However, when I select an area in the upper middle with the CO wb tool, I get a very nice looking photo.
The temp is reasonable at 5012, and the tint is ok at -34.
I use LR a fair amount, and CO and LR almost never have identical wb settings, so this doesn't surprise me.0 -
Upon further review of the photo - in both versions I see large halos around the flower petals in either LR or CO. These are the type of halos sometime seen in HDR software when processed incorrectly.
It would be interesting to take the individual raws that made up this in camera processed photo and run them through a few hdr programs.0 -
perfect no Eos 5D III mRaw and sRaw support and now no support for Canon Eos 1d X (all Raw). I dont understand this. Ligthroom ha the support before the cameras possible to buy? 0 -

If you understand color management, understand that an ICC profiled approach as PhaseOne uses cannot be done until a final release of the camera and firmware. The quasi-profile used in LR has no such constraints, so they can release support anytime they wish. In my mind, this is one of the reasons COne is a superior RAW converter....
Also understand that many raw shooters (such as myself) do not use sRAW or mRaw with any workflow, ever...so this is an arbitrary part of support. Please put your request for that in a support ticket, you might get it moved up as a user requested feature. I and many others could care less if subformats are ever supported....it would be the last factor in choosing a raw converter for myself. Posting a feature request here in a user to user forum is useless.0 -
5D Mk III mRaw/sRaw support will come - I've got it for my 7D and 40D - but Phase One has always been crystal clear that it'll get here when it's ready, and not a moment before; and that they won't discuss possible timescales.
As John suggests, banging on about it on here is just a pointless, unhelpful waste of time and energy.0 -
Ok you dont use mRaw and sRaw. Fine but other use it and the past years c1 support it and moste time the release was quick. But sinece Version 6 a lot of user not happy . Many problems with the software and now long support for pro cameras. 1. Most pressfotographer dont need full raw - to big size to much time. And for john4 this information:if you don' t now it, Canon D1 x have better quality in mRaw ( think so the same D5 MK III) with a new pixelsystem in mRaw (other at previews cameras)but my english is not so good to write it here correct how it worke. 0 -
Alex,
you don't know what most press photographers need or don't need, you only know what you need, but I'm willing to bet that most 5D Mk III users - pro or not - didn't buy it with the smaller Raw formats as their priority, and the 5D Mk III is obviously not intended as a pro press photographer's tool anyway - that'd be the 1D X.
The fact remains that no matter how many times you complain about it on here, mRaw support won't get here one second earlier.
More to the point, the posting rules make it very clear that this sort of discussion is not allowed (see rule 1: discussion about as-yet unreleased support for a given camera falls within the scope of rule 1. Rule 10 might be relevant too).
Perhaps it's time for the mods to lock this thread, as it's going nowhere.0 -
i have think we are democraty ? I have thin it is a trhead to disskusion ?
You don´t have to lock the thread - here my last answer.
i work also international and i think i no approximately what some Pressphotographer need or not. The most worke with .jpg and don´t need C1.
But some pressphotographer use also mRaw when the use raw. and i get from Canon also one of the first 1dx in my country as pro User.
It's just frustrating, but still 2 month i can´t use the C1 (i have now die D5 III and 1Dx). and before the last month crash always the differend c1 versions (with the Canon D5II and 1D mark IV Raw) and not only on my different Workstations and Laptop, also at other users.
And to say that in this thread is prohibited?
and sorry the Cano 5D MKIII is also a pro camera for people the dont to sport and need extrem fast pictures /seconds. The 1dx have other case, lower resulotion bigger puffer same autofocus!!!! AND - a booth Cameras a new pixel system in mRaw.....
i dont no if you are a photographer, Phaseone developer??? Maybe you use other Camera company but i think you don´t now a lot of thinks....0 -
Alright Gentlemen let's stop trying to see who has the best camera. Let's all respect that everyone has different needs and opinions as Photographers and leave it at that.
mRAW and sRAW support is in the works, it will be released once it's ready and I apologize for the wait but it cannot be helped. Thank you for your patience.0 -
Thanks drew!
This is the point! What is the best camera? Ore use Pro Photographer Raw, mRaw or sRaw for Pro or not? that is not interesting - the only question is what is the best program for raw (for all Raw ) processing? And in past time it was C1 and i hope in next future i can use the best program againe!!!!0 -
Capture One 6.4.3 is now available but I regret to inform you that sRAW and mRAW support is still not implemented. It is proving to be quite the time consuming process. I apologize for the further wait and thank you all for your patience. 0 -
Alex, just a response because you read a value judgement into my prior response. My point that I did'nt ever use m/s raws was not to dictate YOUR workflow or needs...just making that point to suggest that you and others should put in a feature request through support, in my many years of using COne I have found they are very responsive to user requests made in that manner.
...just don't assume that it's a priority for every user, in fact it's not. But I don't have a problem with it becoming a higher priority as needed by the entire user base. That's established through support, not this forum. I hope you have taken that positive route...0 -
I just found this thread because I was amazed that CO still does not support SRAW or MRAW.
I have been a professional wedding photographer for the last 12 years and I use MRAW all the time. For a typical wedding, if we are shooting 5000 images per day, there is NO reason to shoot full RAW for most of the day. I only use full RAW for the formal portraits and key moments of the day. For the rest of the day I would rather save the space and have faster write speeds.
Just because one person never uses MRAW, who cares? If Canon felt that no one wanted MRAW or SRAW, they wouldn't have bothered putting the option in the camera. For me, I don't know of any of my colleagues who never use MRAW or SRAW. They use it all the time.
In any case, I have moved everyone in our studio and my sub-contractors to Lightroom since my business would come to a screeching halt if we waited for Capture One to support MRAW. The other wedding pros I work with have also had to do the same.0 -
Any chance of MRAW and sRAW for Canon 5D Mark III ?? 0 -
Hi there Drew, it would be great for all of us Capture One user to give us a timescale on when an update will be available, in the next month, next year? Having to use Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 makes me feel sick when converting raw files, it just doesnt have the consistancy of colours and detail.
Thank you0 -

I'm sorry but no ETA's are ever given from Phase One regarding software releases, simply too many variables to deliver with consistency.0
