Keystone Tool: How to maximize canvas
Upon using the Keystone Tool the canvas is reduced to the adjustment made. It crops the area while straightening, however, it crops a larger area than what appears is needed removing usable information. Is there a way to change the area allowing all of the usable information?

Yes. In the Crop tool there is a checkbox Crop Outside Image. Enable it. Enjoy! 0 -
Hi Paul,
I think two separate issues- this takes place while using Keystone, which of course you know, but the area is not outside of the image area that the Keystone tool is hiding. In the image where one intersection point is at the top of the image has no more room to travel, but at the opposite corners the tool cuts of part of the image that could be dragged out further.
I looked over the crop tool after using the Keystone tool and it will not let me expand this area once the Keystone tool has been used, even if I invoke the "crop outside image".0 -
Have a look at the Image Professor blog

Thanks Paul and Ulf for the response.
Unfortunately neither method works, as I understand it... Could we have a further look into this?
I have set the "Crop Outside Image" as active and this does not change the canvas view. I then export it out to PS CS5 and the canvas that has been cropped inside of C1 does not appear in PS.
Here you can see the "active" and "non-available" area and that there is room for C1 to enlarge the "cropped" area.

Here is how it shows up in PS

Switch your cursor back to the hand cursor (keyboard shortcut H)
Viewing a crop, rotation, or keystone correction with the cursor for each respective tool will show you the area outside the final image. Viewing an image with the hand cursor selected will show you only the final image. In either case the thumbnail always shows you the full image.

Hello Doug P.,
Yes I already understand changing from the Keystone tool to the Pointer or Hand tools will show me what the cropped version would appear as, however; I want that area of information back in the frame. Though in this image there is no important information lost, this was an example, but in other files that information.
In Phase One's Blog there is an article on recovering useful information in the frame:

I am not able to recreate the scenario as it is explained in the article.
And I am guessing the reason that the max canvas is not available during this procedure has something to do w/ the math... but it appears to me, a layperson, that this part of the frame is there and could be made available.0 -
Doug,
Once crop outside is enabled you will have to manually change the crop. I do this all the time and never have a problem exporting my intended crop.0 -
Hi Jeff-
Thanks mate, you totally nailed it... that is exactly what I needed/looking for.0
