pick/unpick - feature request
I'd like to make a case for why a pick/unpick tool (a.k.a. - select/unselect, flag/unflag, tag/untag) should be added to the next C1 release. If you're a hobbyist then stars and colors are probably enough, but if you're a pro using multiple cameras and possibly multiple photographers per shoot then having more ways to refine your image selections is essential. For example, say you've already used stars to select photos from an overall group and color tags to designate different cameras or photographers. You still might need to select a subset of photo to send to a magazine or narrow down photos for your portfolio. The lack of this feature in C1 always seems like a gaping hole when compared to Lightroom, or even Photo Mechanic (I believe aperture has a flag tool as well).
Does Media Pro have that feature? I don't know – I only used the demo for short time. Don't get me started on the fact that I have to buy and use Media Pro if I want to manually reorder my images, edit capture times, etc. Major frustrations! I feel like C1 might be able to steal some market share from its competition if it was more useful as a file management tool and not just an excellent color editor. The more photo editing can be streamlined into into one program the better... from my perspective.

Try to use Albums or Smart Albums for this purpose. Not as fast perhaps as flagging, but much more versatile once you get the idea. In particular Smart Albums have a huge potential. Let us know if you need more help once you tried this.
I have Photo Mechanic as well but seldom leave Capture One for that purpose.0
