What order should I make Expsosure Tab adjustments in?
I tend to mostly use EC and then a levels adjust but sometimes need a bit more. I notice that CC changes my levels and that kind of thing and I end up dancing back and forth between adjustments.
Is there a rule of thumb approach to this?
Then, which comes first Exposure Tab or White Ballance?
Many thanks

Martin,
There really is no Rule-of-Thumb, more of a what works for you approach.
To me the EC is more of a general tool to compensate for under or over exposed images. The ‘Pyramid’ sliders are a little more precise way to make histogram adjustments on highs and lows. Another method for image adjustment is to use the Set Shadow and Set Highlight eyedroppers. Using other tools or settings like RGB, Red, Green, Blue, Levels, Curves and Preserve color balance and you can get even more precise. The tool choices are all there with the only limiting factor being your monitor and your discerning eye.
It’s kind of like… since you mentioned Surgery... Analogy coming… when dissecting a frog. 🤓 ...You will get different results using a Butter Knife, a Steak Knife, a Scalpel, or a Laser. The choice is up to you.
Knowledge Base article # 1672 may offer some insight to the Set Shadow and Set Highlight tools.
