LCC generation faster with quad core i7 than with dual-core?

    Most likely, you will gain in speed with a quad-core over a dual-core. Generating LCC is a complex computation, relying one the processor. You can see it yourself when you open Activity Monitor (Programs/Utilities folder). The Capture One process is utilizing the processor almost to the max (both cores on my dual-core Mac) during LCC creation.

    If you use the wide-angle setting too the computation is more complex, hence more benefit from more cores.

    I note that on a quad-core (i7) Windows 7 system the CPU utilization is not maxed out at all during LCC creation. This can be due to application and OS differences. Best to test this on a quad-core Mac before making a buying decision.
