custom field problem
Due to inexperience, I created a custom field "caption" not realising that there is an iptc field of the same name. I have now populated my custom field. Is there a way of transferring my information from the custom to the iptc field? Also I tried to rename my custom field (Edit->custom fields) but the rename button does not appear to do anything. My concern is that if I use "caption" in an html template media pro will use the iptc field rather than the custom field.

Did you put a lot of work into that? Normaly it would be possible to transfering information from one field to another but in this case i doubt that this is possible. Manualy transfering is the most reliable way to do it...My concern is that if I use "caption" in an html template media pro will use the iptc field rather than the custom field.
I'm sure it will. However you can find out real quick by testing it.

In iView there was a script called "Move/Copy Annotations" that allowed you to copy the contents of one annotation field to another annotation field. I had to edit/customize the script to work in Expression Media. I'm not sure if this script is available in Media Pro, but it might be worth looking (unless you have already manually copied your annotations). 0 -

An iView script should be modified to EM or MP very easy i think. But i doubt it solves the problem here.
OP described he named a custom field the same as an existing field (strange that MP let you do that...)
However, testing the script is not a lot of work and who knows!0
