The second issue seems like a similar problem to this thread:

The main problem is that media pro ignores capture one variants. If anyone knows how to get them in mp?

For me, this is a core problem and clearly violates the published intent of being integrated with CO.

That said, the only way I can figure to get the variants is to complete a process step, such as into a small jpeg, on each of the variants.

I'm not too sure of the varient problem as I don't use it that way. I make a folder with what ever it is going to be, like "Varients". But I wanted to chime in on your filenaming. Using a dot or period between your file names can cause conflicts in some cases. Using an underscore instead would be best. Putting any dot in the file name besides the dot before the extension is in general not something I would recommend.

I agree. This violates the protocol established for Windows. I know that MP will not identify a file with two periods in the name if the name was created in CO or LR.

This is not a filename issue per se, and nothing to do with dots. The problem is this:

In capture one, adjust your image as necessary. Clone a new Variant. Now change it to be, say B&W. So you now you have two variants with the same name, one is colour the other is B&W. Media Pro cannot see one of them.

That's the problem regardless of filename.
