3.7.4 preview doesn't match look of final file in CS
I've had this problem before (in PS, the TIFF created by C1 looks lighter and less red than the preview did), and had gone through some steps to reset the corrupted colorsync..... I was just following directions, and did not keep them. Can anyone walk me through this procedure, again?
Also, 3.7.4, even the latest build (2784) creates ugly, oversaturated colors when using Magne's profiles, and the exported TIFFS open in PS with a warning about being damaged (though they work fine). Phase One claims this bug has been fixed - are there some prefs that I should be trashing? I'm on a MacIntel iMac, and the Universal Binary speed bump in 3/7/4 is quite spectacular, but these color problems have stopped me cold.
Help!
George

Hello
First of all there was a color managment issue with Capture One 3.7.4 on intel Macs which was fixed very quickley. Make sure that the version you have is Capture One 3.7.4 build 2784, if it has a lower build number then trash the version you have and download and install the software again.0 -
George,
The previous version profiles would have remained if you installed this most recent version over existing. To fix, completely Uninstall this version and then reinstall the 3.7.4

If this does not fix the issue, the corrupted color synch Knowledge Base article is:

**remember - the default soft proofing color space for Photoshop is CMYK **

Keith,
Thanks so much for the links, but.... no success. I trashed all previous profiles, reinstalled the software, and I still get the \"document may be damaged\" warning when opening a C1-created-TIFF (which prevents a batch action from running), as well as the same color mismatch. The changes in color (less red) and luminosity (lighter) are slight, but they prevent my trusting the C1 preview. I tried the Terminal commands, but the instructions are either not clear enough, or don't apply to my MacIntel.... as nothing happened, no colorsync profiles or preferences were changed at all (not that there was any obvious problem - the Monitor preferences panel clearly showed the correct profiles for each of my two monitors: iMac Intel and Eizo 210).
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
George0 -
Hi Keith,
While the color matching was simply a problem with the default rendering intent (I had to reset it to Relative Colorimetric, instead of Perceptual), I am still getting the basic problem (the original bug) of files opening up in PS with a message about \"file might be truncated - proceed anyway?\" - which prevents a batch process on the Processed files, and thus stops my workflow dead. I am also not getting the EXIF metadata recorded in the Processed files. I have trashed and reinstalled C1 (although I did not find all the folders mentioned in the support article), and am still getting the same results. Could I get a dialog going with you? I'd very much like to resolve this issue, least I have to go to a different RAW converter in my workflow (there are about 5 on my drive.....). Please see the good things I said about C1 in one of my presentations (I give digital photo seminars, and am the National Treasurer of the Advertising Photographers of America):

George,
Since this is a User -to- User Forum, the best way for dialogue with Technical Support is always via a Support Case.
Create a Case at:
Support Website: http://support.phaseone.com
We've now confirmed both issues as known Bugs that Developers are working on. Problems are isolated to Intel Macs only.
The file will open with the correct profile embedded after you click through the warning message.
The workaround for now is to save the file again in Photoshop which rewrites the file correctly. The file will then open as normal. An Action will make this more efficient. When processing a large batch, unchecking the Open image after process will allow completion.
Thanks for reporting, Apologies for the inconvenience.

OK, so I'm not crazy... this is a known bug. 0
