    You can use any software that creates an ICC input profile. i1 Photo is one possibility.

    As a general rule, input profiles are very squirly. It is bettter to use custom profiles if you are shooting in specific and controlled situations, like copy or repro work. You will probably not make generic daylight profiles which work better than the ones provided by Phase One.

    The programs which make ICC input profiles use larger charts like the gretag color checker SG ($300.00) which have many more patches than the original color checker chart.

    Yes, there is software which makes camera profiles, whether you'll get better profiles than those C1 supplies depends on your abilities. Hope for beginner's luck ! 😊
