Rotation settings still not working in "Copy From Last"
When shooting copy art, I regularly place my studio stand on the opposite side of my set and shoot straight down on the artwork with my Hasselblad and P45+. This makes it easy to move the artwork under the camera and to focus through the waist level viewfinder but it also causes the images to come up on screen upside down. The solution should be simple, of course. Just rotate the first image in CO and select "Copy from Last" in the Next Capture Adjustments tool window. Unfortunately, this has never been a reliable solution. Sometimes it sticks, and the next image rotates, but most times it doesn't stick. It has almost always required switching back and forth from the "Default" setting or a custom "Style" (with a rotation) to the "Copy from Last" while shooting images in between and rotating them to get the adjustment to finally stick. In CO 6.2.1, even this does not work anymore.
I have tried creating a custom styles with a 180 degree rotation in both CO4 & CO5 but this also was not reliable. I haven't retried this trick in CO6 yet but I do have the custom style from the old versions and it does nothing. It seems that now, with my work arounds not working, I have to manually rotate each image. I know this is just a minor annoyance but shouldn't it be a simple fix for something that has persisted for three versions of the software?
Can anyone else confirm this bug exists?
Sorry if this comes off as a rant. That's not my intention. 😄

Note sure but is there a rotation setting in the P45+ (off, on, auto or something) that can help you solve this? 0 -
Hey! Yeah - there is a rotation setting on the back. Yay 😊
I didn't notice it before. I'll give it a try. Mine is set to AUTO. Does this setting override the CO's software settings? Could this the reason that rotations won't stick in the Next Capture Adjustments pane?
Many thanks,

I suggest to set it OFF and give it a try.0 -
You also can select the orientation to 180° in CO's 'Camera' menu with Phase One Backs.
But choose it before capturing, this doesn't seem to be an editing feature.0 -
I have a P45 back, and have the same problem (sometimes I can't get the image to copy the rotation) when shooting straight down.
Where is this setting in the back menu (if it is on the P45)?
Thanks,

I mis-read this post earlier and didn't realise the "Camera" menu you refer to is in C1 software (NOT the actual camera or back). I resolved my issue (with a P45) by setting in "Camera > Orientation" in the SOFTWARE to Auto, or if you're shooting down, or up and the backs sensor can't get the orientation correct, set it there.
This seems to be the reason that when this is set to 90 deg for example, and you rotate the image back using the software (using the normal rotation function), that the software won't apply that correction to the next frame even when you have "copy from last" selected...
Also if you click the "reset all adjustments" in the software, it won't reset the back orientation setting.
I'm using a P45 back, so maybe later backs work differently.
