Single key keyboard shortcuts don't work - v, c, r etc

Hi -

I've just started using CO and setting the software up.

A problem I have is that the single key shortcuts for the main tools - v, c, r etc just don't work. Is this a known bug or is there something I need to do to get them working ?

  v, c , r, h etc select the cursor tools, mine works fine.

  You need to have the thumbnail selected for these shortcuts to work. And, to alternate between multiple cursor tools that listen to the same shortcut, you use the Shift-key in addition to the shortcut. For example:
  - press 'r' for the rotation tool
  - press 'Shift+r' for the next rotation tool
