Upgrading
I'm entitled to one more major upgrade. My question is do I have to take version 4.0 or can I by-pass it to whatever upgraded that is fully Vista x64 and 64bits compatible. I was told that they have no intention to coming out with a 64 bit version of 4.0, which by the way kind of pisses me off because 64 bits will become the standard in desktop computing. I don't want 4.0.

Larry,
Not realistic that you can skip an Upgrade since when you 'jump back in' at 4.# you would get the benefits of 4.0 nevertheless.
I would think that since Speed is what appears to be important to you, you would jump on 4.0 Upgrade since it will be At Least 300% Faster... and since it will be Free to you too.
Reviewed Support Case and hope to clarify 2 issues.

This IS NOT to say that there never will be. It is simply that currently there is not a benefit to doing so.
Just as Phase One has always done, we will continue to stay current with advancing computer technologies.

Yeah there was no benefit from going to 16bits to 32 either. :/ Amazing comment. 0 -
Keith, with respect there's a world of difference between a program that runs on a 64-bit OS but makes no use of it and one that won't run on a 64-bit OS at all. C1 3.7.X keeps crashing on my copy of Windows XP 64 as you've got a memory roll-over problem in your code that can't cope with 4GB of RAM. I just want C1 to run as a 32-bit application on a 64-bit OS. Is that so much to ask, especially for the amount of money you charge?

Well, I've had a chance to really think about this situation. And I've come to the conclusion that I will not go back to a 32 bit OS nor will I be forced too. If the 64 bit is the future and with the fury of the new hardware and software coming out it would seem to me that PhaseOne would revamp the new version to support x64. But at it stands I'm pretty much in a bad spot as far as getting your support and being forces to take a version which will not work on my OS but in a compromised mode. Makes me wonder even more if you guys know what your doing. Sigh..... seems I got screwed out of my money since you guys won't even consider making a true x64 version. Grrrrrrr

Larry,
Seems to me personally since starting with SE in 2004:

You have absolutely nothing whatsoever to complain about.

Keith, nothing is "free". We paid for them all when we paid for C1 in the first place!

Let me tell you something.....
I bought your program thinking how much better it could be... after extensive use for a few months I've found nothing I liked about it. Poor graphic performance and speed, I couldn't get my money back and was willing to wait for an upgrade. I thought maybe it was a new product and I was willing to forgive bad programing and layout codes. You don't own the market in good color as color is delegated by the user using many other means of RAW converters. My use with this junk as been about 2 months!!!! As far as you're concerned it seems that I should just chalk it up as a loss and forget about it. Maybe I should take your advice and just junk it. I do have "lots" to complain about!!!!!, but not worth the effort. Especially now since you don't plan to upgrade nothing but do some fixes to some lousey code which should had been "300%" faster in the first place. bahhh this isn't worth any more of my time and love how you guys just white wash past codes with a new visual format and call it an upgrade.

Larry0
