iPhone catalog reader

    What you are suggesting would require the images and catalog be on a network/server. From there the iPhone would access them just as it would if you use a VNC program for the iPhone.

    I agree with the original poster, but want to clarify requirements.

    Ideally the app would be iPhone AND iPAD compatible. EM would look awesome on iPad. But I digress.

    It would have the ivc data file on the device and the source images would be on a network drive accessible via wireless. To be honest though, the wireless access would be kind of secondary are you are unlikely to want to access the source images on an iPhone/iPad. Being able to view the catalog on a portable device would be awesome though.

    iTunes lets you sync "documents" to apps, so the ivc catalog could get updated externally via the desktop program and then the updated ivc would re-sync to iPhone/iPad.

    That would be Yummy, and far more useful than the standard photo viewer.

    It would need the filtering abilities however, like ratings, dates, keywords etc.
