DNG support
Dear C1v7 users,
since I have only a 32bit system with C1v6.4 I can not test the new v7 which requires 64bit. I will do the investment only if v7 is supporting my DNG raw files from Pentax K-30. With v6.4 this was not the case. See discussion and screenshots at: http://forum.phaseone.com/En/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=12629&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=pentax#p57718
Can someone just download & test the K-30 DNG (see above posting) and report about the result? Would be very nice! Is the color deviation effect of this DNG still occuring with v7?
Regards from Joseph

According to official information, the C1v7 not support Pentax K-30.
My hope is that Phase One will release a new version of C1 v6 (6.5, 6.4.5, 6.4.4.1 ...)
I already wrote about it in the appropriate branch ... 😉

I downloaded a K30 DNG and tested it for you and no it is not supported.
You just get the generic DNG profile with the same resulting strange colours as before.
Now contrary to what Drew said before about DNG I think it will eventually be supported correctly.
Why do I say that, well previously if had I shot in DNG with my Pentax K-r I would have got the same" DNG file Neutral Profile" but now I get a specific " Pentax K-r Generic Profile" for my DNG file which is more realistic in colours.0 -
Hello Paul, thank you very much for testing the K-30 DNG. That is very kind from you. I will keep on with waiting for K-30 support in C1. In parallel I will upgrade my systems to 64 bit.
BTW: AdobeDNGConverter v7.2 announces support of K-30 DNG. But it is impossible for me to catch, why this should be relevant. First there is no real need to process again the original K-30 DNGs with AdobeDNGConverter (ADC). Second, I do this just to replace the large preview with a medium preview. But this was already possible in previous ADC versions and I see no difference. Finally the original DNG raw-content is not touched at all during ADC conversion (as far as I understand and experienced). My first hope was, that the new DNGs processed with ADC v7.2 will be interpreted correctly by C1, but this was perhaps a quite silly expectation from a silly consumer.
Best Regards from Joseph0
