Sharpness Settings

I'm using Capture One 4.5 PRO on my MacBook Pro with my Nikon cameras D300 and D2Xs. Now I want to know how CO 4.5 PRO handle the sharpness settings of the camera. I use sharpness setting level 2 of 9 in the camera. Are the sharpening levels at the camera only for the embedded preview jpg or are this setting also used by CO 4.5 PRO?

    These kind of in-camera settings like sharpness apply to in-camera JPEG. In general, with the exclusion of the camera maker's own software, sharpness, contrast etc. in-camera settings are ignored by third party raw software.
    One exception is white balance. This value stored as meta-data (=information about data) in the raw file is reflected in the value the raw software opens the image with.
