Moving entire folders
Hi there,
I just recently switched from LR to C1. Generally, I'm very satisfied but one thing isn't working for me.
Normally, I import all my RAW files to a folder (referenced) on my hard drive, do my selection and editing, and then move the entire folder to an external drive. But somehow, I can't make this happen in C1. As a workaround I could create an equally named folder on the external drive and move the photos there. However, moving the entire folder via drag'n'drop would be much more convenient.
Is there any way to get this done?
Thanks,
Max

Sounds like you are using catalogs, right?
You can move your entire image folder with Finder and then use 'Locate' on the library folder in your CO catalog to link it again.
But my personal workflow is a little bit different.
I first use a session to do the basic steps on a shoot, with images and session on my local disk.
Later I move my image folder to an external disk with Finder and import them referenced into a local catalog.

Yes I'm using catalogs since I'm used to that from LR. And I just recently upgraded from the free C1 Express for Sony, which doesn't support sessions but convinced me regarding the image quality. Your workflow sounds like it could also work great for me and I will definitely give it a shot.
Thanks a lot for the suggestion!0 -

I don't use session but import into the catalog, do first edits etc. and then move them to folders (on external disk) all inside of Capture One. In the folders section of C1 you can create folders ('add folder') and then just drag and drop them from an import etc. into this folder.0 -
Yeah, that's what I did as well. However, I was hoping that I could save that step of the folder creation. Especially, when you're moving several projects at once it can become a bit annoying this way. In LR you can drag and drop as many folders as you like simultaneously, so I thought there might be something similar in C1. I think working with sessions will do the trick for me, but thanks for your input. 0
