20D connected but not capturing
Hi
I am trying out the pro version 3.7.1 and am mainly interested in the tethered support... i currently have my camera tethered... i clicked reconnect camera and now it says my camera is ready for capture... i selected a new folder/session and then i press the shutter and nothing happens....
am i doing something wrong?
(i am pressing the shutter on the camera and not the capture button on the screen as i know this does not work)
help would be appreciated as i really need this to work
thanks for your time

Strobes,
Be sure you have to most recent camera drivers from Canon. Be aware that there are different drivers for XP and Windows 2000.
Create new Session/Capture folder and then select the be sure the tab has the Camera logo on it by clicking the camera icon above that is - Set this collection as capture collection
Windows XP/2000:
>>Set the Canon camera to shoot RAW quality
>>No CF card in camera
>>Connect the camera to you computer (through a FireWire/IEEE 1394 or USB cable)
>>Install the camera software drives on your computer
>>Launch Capture One
>>Start capturing by using the release button on the camera

Thank you for your quick and easy to understand solution it is now working perfectly 😊
my only concern now is that when i have shot it it ionly shows the thumbnail and the big image does not soe in the middle of the screen, i am sure i read a posting about that somewhere and it said to tick the process images immediatly button which i have done, but to no avail.. i will go on th ehunt again to see if i can find the solution...
however if you happen to see this and know the answer please let me know 😊
thanks again for great support

***UPDATE****
I found the post i reffered to.. the follwoing was the answer you gave...
\"\"Be sure that in the Preferences > Capture Options tab, that the Process immediately when capture arrives is checked.
Also confirm the Session folder is set as the Capture Collection - the little camera icon uppermost left - folder tab should then have the 'camera' displayed. \"\"
well i have done that and still it does n ot show up unless i manually click the thumbnail...
cany ou think of any other reason?
thanks again

Strobes,
That suggestion was way off and misunderstood by me. I was wrong and it is for something totally different.
Check out fphoto post near bottom who had the same situation resolve itself...
