Can't find tool to change thumb size

I used to have it! All of a sudden the slider to adjust the size of thumbs in the browser window is gone. How do I get it back?

  click on head logo next to magnifying glass logo above thumbnails and slider will appear.

  Unless you are in the 'filmstrip' view mode, in which case just click and drag the top of the browsing window area, the thumbs will resize to fit the height.
