    Hi Matador,

We have been discussing import from CF card issues last few days, but tethering was working fine? Or was it a different camera? Is there a reason for asking because you have tethering issues with a certain version? I think 8.2.2 is a safe bet.

    8.1.0 seems best to me.

    Hi Paul,
last week was all Canon 5D mark 3 Reinstalling using Terminal helped. I used Capture Integrations method :
    https://captureintegration.com/how-to-c ... 10-7-10-8/
    which is a bit different.
I am a digital tech and each week I work with different gear. This week is Nikon D800
I find The D800 having a really hard time tethering well with retinas while it is fine with non retinas.... I assume the USB3 ports in Retinas may have less voltage. My workaround is sometimes to tether through an Apple monitor.

    Dale11833,
if you tether in a Retina, do you need some kind of powered USB hub or you plug in directly into the laptop. I find it hard to tether Nikons in Retinas Vs older macs. Maybe my paranoia, but I think Retinas have less voltage in the USB ports.

The usb port on the right seems best on my 2013 retina MBP. I use a active usb 3 cable 15' or 30' with the nikon 6' usb cable to camera. It works without a powered usb hub but if you're having problems try using the hub.

I use a unique setup which has proved very stable with the D800 and the latest C1Pro version 8 update.

In the studio I use a Belkin Thundebolt Express Port which is a powered USB3 hub of sorts. Everything goes through the thunderbolt port, and I also have faster networking with a hardwired ethernet port.

When battery powered I use a Tether Tools USB3 Power Boost and a Tether Tool Power Bank in line to a Tether Tool active extension cable.

And since I do go from tripod to handheld I need a better connection at the camera. The Nikon cable and their shallow USB3
[Super High Speed] port is a very poor design...So I found and use a Super High Speed adapter made by Lock Circle...
This adapter is a right angled gold plated bit of gear which goes from the Nikon Port to a full sized [Type A I believe] port and uses a hard to find Male to Male [6 foot Type A3 to A3 gold plated cable] which is then inserted into either the Power Boost or directly into the active extension cable.
This adapter is Locked into a cage which when properly installed does not allow for any cable movement at the Nikon Super High Speed usb3 port.

Rock Solid...the only time I had issues was when the D800 battery was almost exhausted...

    I'm using my D800 with a mid 2014 15" Retina, running OS X 10.10.3 and CO Pro8 version 8.3.0.52.
I'm tethered using TetherTools USB3 cable and the TetherBoost unit, and haven't run into any problems.

Use 8.3.0. This will give you the fastest tethered experience so far!

thanks for the responses. It is very interesting how everyone has a little trick to make this almost-perfect-system work.
