    Hi Geb,

This is a tough one, as it seems. Hard to find another workaround from the top of my head.

You can contact me through my website Image Alchemist, link below, if you like. PM is not enabled on this board.

    Thanks Paul!

If you're interested in taking a look, I just copied an .eip file into my dropbox at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...9/CF004076.eip

When you look at the Local Adjustments of Variant 2, you will see a layer named "floor". This layer is used to remove the strong pink color. Now, what I would like to do next is adding a yellow hue (similar to the unaffected wooden floor) to the now desaturated parts of the floor. That's were I can't achieve anything by adding another layer.

    best,

    geb

    Hi Geb,

I get an error 404 from Dropbox. Could you check the link? Thanks.

    Hi Geb,

I looked into your image and your post and what you like to achieve. I am afraid that I am not able to provide a solution for your desired result in this case. From my experience with interiors, mixed light is always difficult, light source in the image a second challenge to the first, and monochromatic light sources a challenge #3.
The floor in the foreground has different shadows from different coloured light sources.

What I see on the floor, where you have desaturated the light, is the following:
    - locally, the scene is overexposed in the red channel, making color adjustments hard to get, except for desaturation
    - once desaturated, I guess that any hue change is a lost battle.

To give you any idea in which direction I would think to overcome such a situation, some thoughts. I am sure you might have contemplated them already. I am aware this is not always possible.
    a) bring in light to the scene to compensate for the harsh spots and shadow objects to decrease light contrast, combine with suggestion b)
    b) make multiple exposures, like under exposed for the highlights, and overexposed for the shadows
    c) make some images with and without certain light sources
    d) when illuminating certain parts of the room with new light brought into the scene, do not bother to much whether it is seen, but be aware for reflections of your light source in glass.

Make conversions were all parts are right in their respective capture. Next, stack them in PS and go your way with masks. Take your advantage of digital capturing!

I hope you are not offended by my suggestions. Great image, by the way, anyway!

    Hi

The local adjustment layers in combination with advanced color editor with the same mask could be an even more powerful feature as it is today, or do you think it is not working as intended?

    EDIT:
(In the first image, within the layer "color cast fine tune" there was an un-checked color correction, I should have un-checked the layer for better understanding).
I don't know how to size an image appropriately with the IMG tag, so please click the link to see the full image
