Do I have Standard, or Pro?

I must have Pro. I finally found the Clarity tool. Still have not found the Vignette tool, and do not see how to process more than one version of a file at the same time the way I used to do in Pro. I HOPE this is not pro. It's a bummer having so many different tabs with tools scattered all over the place.

Don't be embarrassed, it actually a good question I think. You can check your activation (either Pro or Not) from the Capture One menu, License. Under the license code, it states explicitly "Capture One PRO" if it is activated as Pro.

My license says "Capture One Legacy" with no mention of PRO and it indicates that I cannot receive updates. Is Legacy "PRO"?

To help to distinguish the kind of animal you have running on your computer, some typical PRO (and DB) characteristics regarding tools are:
      Capture tool tab (camera symbol)
Styles tool on Quick tool tab
Skin Tone tool and Color Editor on Color tool tab
      Lens tool tab (lens symbol)
Overlay tool on Composition tool tab
Clarity and Moire tools on Details tool tab
Process Recipes list on the Output tool tab

There are some subtle differences in the menus as well, like New/Open Session in the File menu for PRO/DB.

    Paul,

I appreciate your reply, but I'm still confused as to why my license says "Legacy". The characteristics you describe show up in the version I have but I'm really hesitant to use the application until I learn how to import COPRO 3.x sessions into the new 4.5 version. You seem knowledgeable, so would you advise?

Gary, legacies are often confusing, aren't they? 😁
If you have used your CO 3 Pro license key to activate CO 4.5 it should run as Pro.
Regarding your question on importing CO 3 Pro sessions: I have no knowledge about whether Phase One will deliver this option in the near future or not.

I guess that it is difficult to translate adjustments from work files of CO 3.x into CO 4.x due to the fundamental differences of both versions (from a programmers point of view). CO 4 is a totally re-written application, not an incremental upgrade. Also, having used CO since v1.x, Phase One has more often broken with the past making it difficult if not impossible to import settings from older versions. My expectations are low in this field.

Whether you like to ride the CO3.7 horse as long as possible or jump on the CO4 bandwagon now it is available, is yours to decide. I have chosen for the latter option, using CO4 since it had its first public beta (putting my Pro license in the fridge). I invested time and effort to become familiar with its strengths and weaknesses and this process still continues, growing along with newer releases while CO4 evolves. I haven't looked back though.
As long you have not migrated to Leopard, an Intel Mac or not yet bought the latest camera not supported by CO 3.7.9, you can postpone the step you have to take sooner than later, inevitably.

Did I already said that legacies are sometimes confusing? More often than not. Good luck.

Did you used to use 2.9? Legacy is an old key (one you have registered) from pre v3 software.

You can't import old sessions. The sidecar files for edits etc aren't compatible, plus the .session file is replaced with .col45 for session stucture.

I too hope migration will be implemented in a future release.
