Proof Profle + Export
Hi there,
I just received my Spyder Pro in order to calibrate my screen, which worked perfectly.
My question is with the Proof Profile in C1: which profile should I use ? The profile generated by my "Spyder Pro" or something else ?
Secondly, I have found that images in C1 are a bit lighter than my exports in Jpeg (sRGB), specificaly in the shadows. Using sRGB isn't a good idea? Then which profile to use to output for the web ?
Thanks,
David

You should use (generally) the working space or output class profile you are going to (eg. ARGB 98 or a print profile) The monitor profile is used to display this properly on the display device, no more.
Best is to use "selected recipe" - this will then honour the profile set in the recipe. Change recipe with a different profile and Capture One will automatically proof in the new profile.
You don't say what you are viewing the Jpeg in - my guess though is whatever it is is honouring a black point compensation in the monitor profile, where as Capture One prioritises Color Tone and ignores this profile tag.0 -
Thanks a lot for your inputs.
I am unrderstood right:
- As most of my pictures will be for the web, I can use the JPG sRGB output and also use the same profile as the proof profile
- Regarding the visualisation of my pictures (where I can see a difference), I only tested with the OOTB windows picture viewer in windows 8, have you got any good recommendation for a professionnal photo viewer.
Thanks
